Dancers are Hot
Being a dancer makes you more attractive to a potential mate. The study found, "that men whose dancing was rated as attractive and assertive by women were physically stronger than those whose moves were dismissed as below par." Dancers are Less Likely to Use Drugs, Suffer from Anxiety/Depression
Being a dancer requires you to be fit, mentally sharp and to pay close attention to your body. As athletes, dancers are required to be in outstanding physical condition, which may explain a recent report in American College of Sports Medicine's journal,
Exercise and Science in Sports and Medicine, which indicated that being a dancer makes a child much less likely to experiment with drugs or to abuse drugs. Another benefit, the report also found that being a dancer makes you less likely to suffer from anxiety and depression, compared to non-dancers. Who knew would lead to a sense of chemical free calm.
Plies and Pirouettes lead to a Positive Outlook
It has been well-documented that the larger the social circle one has, and the more social ties developed has been associated with a greater sense of self-confidence. Dancing is an inherently social activity that offers great opportunities for friendships, connections and social bonds to develop.
Dancers are Flexible, have increased Strength, Stamina
For good health or for any athletic activity, strength, stamina and flexibility are core indicators of fitness. Many different kinds of dancing will increase each of these for a dancer. Warm-ups and stretching increase relaxation and flexibility, while an aerobic dance routine improve overall strength and stamina. Ballet is a perfect example of rigorous activity that will reshape a dancers body to become lithe, strong and beautiful.
